I have an issue right now: I've opened a STORE and it was a computer store previous to my being there ... Obviously, I run a computer store there now ...
The neighbor has decided that she will put out a sign in front of her daycare which is one door down in the same strip-mall stating "(Old computer store name/number) has moved to (new address)" ...

Ok, so she and I talked again and I feel bad for her ... There's a few things that this other guy/these guys (who claim to be fer "friends" and who have moved) is/are doing to her in a negative way ...
1) He's putting her up for fines from the "sign enforcement" here 2) He's creating a tension between businesses (even though I don't blame her) 3) He's talking shit, apparently, even though I've been handing him the business I don't want (gaming systems)
I can tell that she doesn't want to be in the middle just by talking to her, however, she is merely "keeping a promise" and they come by daily in the mornings to make sure the sign is out front. I can't see doing anything to HER, she's seemingly pretty honest about the whole mess and I'm sorry she's caught in between.
Point is; he moved, thus, he forfeits the business from here. I pay the rent now, not them!
I'm trying to figure out, logically, what to do next since he won't return my calls. I'm willing to compromise, if even just a little, however, not if he won't. I'm even thinking of finding someone close to here that fixes gaming systems and work out a small referral fee, something I didn't even consider asking from the old people, and out of "basic respect"; I just wanted to be "fair business" here.
So, what should I do now; and it's to the point where I can be my cruel self and fuck what anyone thinks; I didn't want a "business war", however, I don't see a choice being presented before me at this present time.
It's a shame, really ... I actually liked those fucking clowns at one point ...

Latex is no good. Powder residue. Vinyl paint gloves from Home Depot.
Just get your lawyer to write them a letter telling them that they are stealing from you and warn them off. No threats. People generally haven't any real balls if they know in their minds they're wrong (and unless they somehow found a loophole and own all rights to commerce in that storefront, they ARE wrong and they're stealing your business, dude.
And get your lawyer to do it gratis with the promise that he can have half of the lawsuit if you have to sue.

Here's the letter I am sending to these people(s):
NOTICE OF LETTER OF INTENT - 01/14/09 (To “[The business in question]â€, formerly of [my business address])
First off, I want it clearly stated that I have TRIED to be as fair as possible with our businesses, even going as far as to refer business I do not want, nor handle, in the form of game consoles and iPods, etc, to you, [their name], at your new location on the corner of [streets]. I have had nothing but kind words to say when I refer business to you, however, as I've learned, you have not been as kind as I have been to you regarding this matter and/or these business issues. You have even gone as far as to place a sign outside of MY LEGAL BUSINESS LOCATION that redirects my foot-traffic to you. This is unacceptable, and will no longer be tolerated.
I have spoken to the owners of the daycare next to my establishment, and I understand that you were, or have been friends, for a while now, however, they are now somewhat indirectly involved in your wrongdoing(s) to me. This is my full letter of intent to you, as directed by my attorney(s) before they are forced to get involved.
The outline of intent is as follows;
You are no longer legally entitled to business that goes on within this address and you will no longer receive referrals from me, nor acknowledgement of “[their]â€'s existence at all.
You have maliciously placed a sign out front of MY establishment in the direct attempt to refer business from me and my LEGAL establishment, as well as to “intimidate†me.
This is hearsay, however, I've caught word of some things said about me and my business.
I AM HEREBY NOTIFYING YOU OF INTENT, BY MYSELF AND MY ATTORNEY(S) THAT:
The ILLEGAL, and harassing sign WILL be removed from anywhere within viewing distance of MY NEW ESTABLISHMENT within 24 hours of close of business on 01/14/09.
There will be no contact from me to you, nor from you to me in the future.
There will be no unkind words passed between businesses, yours or mine, in the future.
We will conduct business as the “distant neighbors†we are, and nothing more.
NOTICE OF FULL INTENT: Within the stated time-frame, the sign, as well as any and all harassment, slander, and any other activities WILL CEASE or I will have no choice, as I have been instructed by my attorney(s), that legal action WILL carry forward, on behalf of my company; “[name]â€, as instructed by me.
THE LEGAL SUIT WILL INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
Illegal and harassing literature in front of MY place of business.
Clear loss of wages from the time said sign has been in front of MY establishment.
Fair referral fees for all work I have sent your way (documented)
Slander
THIS IS THE ONLY WARNING, AS INSTRUCTED LEGALLY TO ME, YOU SHALL RECEIVE BEFORE I WILL BE FORCED TO CARRY THROUGH LEGALLY!
Change "manner" to "matter" but still I don't think I'd respond to a letter like that. My thoughts would be if someone had money to throw around to lawyers this letter would be from a lawyer.
Find some synonyms for "business". Like "Commerce" or "Referral". Too repetitive and too wordy, too... 9th grade. That's why I would have told the lawyer "You do it, it's what I pay you for, fucknut". I fayle Inlish. Not unpossible.

He said it should come directly from me; I asked him to do it, however, he said I'd have to pay his paralegal to draft it up ... I chose to just do it myself, however, I'll take that consideration and reword it ...
Today I saw those pictures you have of karaoke night on your entertainment site and it appears that you live in such a redneck backwoods shithole that your best bet would be sending this guy some polaroids of a shotgun's muzzle being held to a 30 pack of budweiser. Enclose a note to the effect that you'll release the beer to his custody if the sign goes bye bye and if he doesn't cooperate the beer gets a lead sandwich. Include some shredded bits of can in the package so he knows you mean business.
