I think Lost is one of the best television shows, if not the best, I've ever seen. It's funny because I never watched the show until this year's season premiere. After watching that episode, I was hooked and rented the other seasons at Blockbuster.
I really like the development of all the characters, and I think it is clever to go into each character's former life in flashback form. It provides another dimension to the show, because they all have such interesting stories. My favorite character is John Locke. I'm waiting for the part when they tell us how he becamed crippled. Do you remember the episode where they go into Kate's past while she is fleeing the police after escaping from the hospital with her childhood sweetheart (a doctor), and she crashes into another car. They never show you who is in that car that she crashes into. I think it potentially could be Locke. At least that is what my first instinct was when I saw the crushed car and they wouldn't show you who was inside. It seems that some of the characters had small connections in real life as well. For instance, Locke works at a box company with later we learn Hurley purchased after winning the lottery. Also, Sawyer runs into Jack's alcoholic father at a bar on the same night Jack's father drank himself to death.
I'm not sure about the code, but I too think it might just be an experiment. I think that is one reason they don't want people using the computer for anything but the code, so as not to allow people to communicate. My prediction is Walt and Michael have stumbled upon a secret that we don't know of yet by communicating through the computer.

Yes, it's the absolute last scene of the episode last week. They had just returned from the confrontation with the 'others' leader and his posse. The leader had warned that Jack's gang were merely allowed to live there etc, and they had to relinquish their weapons. These guys have Walt and now his dad probably too. Jack did some thinking on the long walk back.

I didnt "DIS" the show, I just said I dont watch it. I might have been persuaded to watch it, but that's not likely now, simply because of the holier than thou attitude of some posters in this thread.

This show is the main reason I want to fix my TV plug. Although some of its mysteries seem like they may be supernaturally explained, which would really disappoint me.

Thanks but the issue is that I don't like the show and everyone's getting pissed off because I don't. It not like I didn't give it a chance I was well looking forward to watching it. I just thought it could be SO much better.

Hayley, how many episodes did you watch of Lost? I know that if I'd watched just one or two of certain episodes, I might not of liked it. I just happened to see a really good episode the first time I watched it. I honestly don't think people who just randomly watched one episode could truly appreciate it, because its one of those shows you have to see every episode in order to understand whats going on. There are a lot of characters, and a lot of storylines and you only get a small piece of the puzzle every show.
In my opinion, the acting is great. The characters come from all over the world, which you can't really say for many other shows. It's a great show for many reasons.
Oh and Seskel, why would it bother you if some of the explanations behind some of the island mysteries were supernatural?
Oh, Does anyone understand the "alarm" that presents itself in the form of an invisible monster? I mean, what kind of security alarm is that?
