There were Said flashbacks that showed torture was part of his 'job' as an Iraqi officer. He rejects alot of it, his doomed affair with Shannon was an attempt to relinquish his past in favor of true love. Sadly, she was shot in the gut, and now he's embittered again. This week he gets back to basics, as he will be torturing a stray member of the 'others' tribe.
"Thrash" wrote ... "Hello, I'm a torturer." ... sound familiar?
That was totally necessary, Sawyer was being an asshole. Being a torturer doesn't mean a person isn't level-headed; he was trained to do that by his government. Even when Ana-Lucia shot Shannon he didn't fly off the handle and kill her or anything, he saw the situation for what it was and didn't let his emotions control him.
OK so Seskel, after watching the Season Finale you must be happy right. I mean, could they have come up with a more logical explanation for at least part of what is going on there?
Oh, and what do you guys think of Michael now that he has been compromised. I think he is going to come back. This show has me hooked forever now.
Season 3 will start out with a 6 episode plot arch and then return with 18 straight episodes in 2007. New characters, promised sexiness, answers to our questions and rest assured, even more questions to be brought up!

wrote ... The six episode mini-series that opens the season will reveal more about the others. The first episode will be titled "A Tale of two Cities" and be penned partly by J.J. Abrams. Abrams will also direct episode 7, the first one back from the break. The new scheduling format is a direct result of fans complaining about all the repeats this last season.
