In a rotten rustbelt town I fell in madly mutual love with tall leggy exotic dancer, golden fleshed, auburn maned, lithe limbed, supple waisted. She was madly brilliant and brilliantly mad. We dreamed together of escape, to New York, to Vegas, to anywhere she could ply her trade in clubs of suitable elegance to one so fair, so fine. After we had stabilized, I would ask her to marry me.

It all went to hell, she's fled without me to a worrisome fate in Florida, and now I live in Myrtle Beach, SC.

I won't be doing that again any time soon.
