LONDON (Reuters) - From Saturday, Mick Jagger will be entitled to a basic state pension of just under 91 pounds ($180) a week.

But he will have to wait another five years for free roof insulation -- that benefit is only available to Britons aged over 70.

The lead singer of British rock band The Rolling Stones turns 65 on Saturday, making him an old age pensioner, albeit in name only.

I always say I like the Stones, and I do, but I can't think of a song they've come out with in my lifetime that's actually worth a shit.

Their old stuff was cool though.

I understand there's a generational abyss when it comes to music. I had it with my mother just as I'm sure you all had it with your parents. It came up here with classic Aussie rock and I brought up The Easy Beats. Mosh called me old. So I'm old. But I know what I like.

Exile on Mainstreet was their last solid release. That was 1972? Dammit I am old... Edited Mon Sep 15 2008, 08:43pm

'82 for me. And probably the majority of "my" music was originally my dad's music, for what it's worth.

If I remember rightly, I said you were showing your age... which isnt quite the same thing.

Then I called you old.

I downloaded all of Bob Seger's catalogue recently... my god he made some great music, especially in the 60's.

His third comeback in 1978 wasn't too bad. Any song on Night Moves except Night Moves.

I prefer Stranger in Town, with the exception of Old Time Rock n
Roll... Tom Cruise tainted it too bad.
