Thats why the more mature woman who may have spent many years with a man she loves but can't any longer stand or feels ignored by or the divorced or widowed woman who is feeling lonely with few options can be empowered.

there's no problem with it, but the only issue is, when it is false sense of confidence. You should be able to take a rejection and be ok with it. No it's never pleasant, but it's not something to be destroyed over, and if she's still not built any real confidence, then all that is for nothing. Thus she should build it on her own.
