I'm on vacation now. I needed to take time off to move into the new place and get things settled. Way too much shit going on at once, you know?
Good news, though. I finally went skydiving today for that study I mentioned ages ago. I should get my $500 check soon. Odd, it was the most calming and peaceful experience I've ever had.

it's nothing like what I was expecting. I thought I'd be all pumped up afterward with an adrenaline rush. Instead I was just really calm and centered. I think it kind of gave me a chance to regroup and put everything into perspective, so to speak.
And I was also expecting that "stomach in your throat" feeling like on the rides at Great Adventure. I didn't feel like I was falling at all. The best way to describe it is "surreal."

Daph, come to Long Island; you can do it, too. You can stay with me. And bring the baby. I mean, who's a better qualified babysitter than a pediatric nurse?

Haha! Thanks for the offer but there's no way in hell I'd go jumping out of a plane! I do amire those who have the guts to do it though! I'm such a chicken I can't even ride on the back of a motorcycle, I'm afraid of something, not being in control maybe? I have no prob if I'm the driver though. I think falling like that would just about kill me, I'd prolly pass out and not get my cord pulled, then land in a mangled mass on the ground... pretty picture that.

you go tandem. You don't pull the cord, someone else does. So if you pass out, no problem. And I won't go on a motorcycle, either. I'm scared to death of them... figure that out. I'll fling myself out of a plane at 12000 feet with no helmet, but I won't get on a motorcycle.
