I met Kara about 5 years ago and was a very good friend of hers. She was quite down to earth at that point. She was single, had a stable job and was a very good friend up until she went bat shit crazy.
Lets just say she went into a nosedive after she had her child and her husband left her. She did not want help, I cut ties with her the first time by dropping her off on the side of Beach Blvd after trying 3 times to get her into rehab (she was having me drive her to every rehab in town, we would get there and she would tell me "oh not this one"). She had been in an out of rehab probably 4 times by this point, she had already wrecked her car in a DUI related accident (head on accident on Butler Blvd I believe), her son was taken from her and she was pathetic.
Finally her DUI accident caught up with her and she went to county jail for I think about 6 months. She got out, called me and I met up with her for coffee just a month or so before all this. She had really cleaned up her act in jail (well when I saw her she was not drinking and she was doing really well). You could tell by her complexion, she looks horrible when she drinks. Then I never heard from her again, then December rolled around and I saw her in the paper.
All I have to say is good think they were caught and I am glad they will be off the streets for good. When I first met her I would have never imagined in a million years all this would happen. I would be half tempted to visit her just to tell her how horrible of a person she is. As said above I hope she rots in hell.

It's a shame; I met her ex-mother-in-law and her kid shortly after this happened ... (Actually, I knew her beforehand, I just didn't know that until this happened)

I just wanted to let anyone who's interested know that Channel 4 in Jacksonville is doing a story on this crime tomorrow night, Tuesday November 14th @10:00. I don't know anything other than the fact that I saw the commercial for it today and it references a bottle of lighter fluid, Brandon's zippo that was lying on the floor and the movie "Natural Born Killers". Depending on what other horrible things happen locally between now and tomorrow evening, it could be a five minute piece or be pre-empted altogether. I just thought let you guys know. I will try to locate the video feed after it airs. As for now, there's nothing about it on the news website, so I don't have any more information to share. Just keep in mind that pretty much every news story is sensationalized. That's all I have ... for now. : : :
I know there have been no posts since these two animals went to jail, but if anyone is still monitoring this, thought you'd like to know that Angus Wallen died in prison on March 2, 2009, 10 days before Brandon's 27th birthday. There have been no details given as to the cause of death but one can only hope it was slow and painful. I will post the details of his death when I find out.
