OK, I saw Sunn & BORIS last night, and my ears are still bleeding, despite wearing ear plus for the whole show.
BORIS were excellent, the young lady who plays the guitar leaves a lot of "guitar gods" in the dust. Started nice and ambient though really heavy, and then cranked the speed up... great band live. Drummer stage dived out of the blue, and was carried all around.
Sunn then abruptly started, and this was a completely different order of loud! 1 song (I assume), 90 minutes long. I could feel the sound hitting me, like I was a 6'2" vibrator. Felt great. Very theatrical, singer sat in the middle of the stage doing nothing for 25 minutes after his first vocal assault, and then it went up a notch in heaviness.
They were joined by the drummer from BORIS, who dived twice into the crowd, once with a mikestand. It was chaos. And then it was over, just like that, no wind down, no hints, just stopped.
