I got to thinking about how things age, and was listening to Nirvana's Nevermind album, and it struck me how dated the music sounded.

Then I listened to Metallica's Ride The Lighning album, and it still sounded fresh as a daisy to me.

What music sounds dated to you?

Most Grunge, some 80's punk & hardcore, 90's Gangsta rap, 70's disco, all 70's MOR (Journey, Styx, that stuff), all sound old and tired.

There's still old stuff that gives me a woody, Bob Seger, Black Flag, early Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Some 80's new wave...

The way the Cure still sounds fresh while Depeche Mode sounds like they need a pacemaker.
