Metallica were great, 22 years ago.

when they started... they were like "We don't need the fans"...

they refused to do videos on principle.... "we don't need the fans"...

then, they saw what the vidoes did for their careers... "Ok, we kinda need the fans..."

then the whole napster thing happened... "Fuck the fans!"

besides... anything newer than the black album is a waste... and I still have to say that even that was a severe let-down..

Dude, even ...and Justice for all is a let down.

The one member that had decent musical ideas and chops died early, and the other three could barely string a song together. Hence Bob Rock.

I can literally play any song on just about any instrument from the Black album back ...

I really still dig a lot of their songs from Ride ... Master ... Kill ... and Garage ...

Starting with Black, I noticed a SEVERE change, but figured that maybe it's just an "off album" ... Boy, was I wrong ...

After that, I can't even listen ...

That entire Garage Days album was sacreligious. To remake "Whiskey In The Jar" would be like having a Ramones cover band. They should have been lynched. And that whole "angriest man in heavy metal" persona... Hetfield is an ass.

Still I did worship them in the early 80s...
