So last night I went out to a sneak preview showing of The Island which doesn't come out till July 22nd. I've submitted a full review for Dave to put up on our site. So I'll briefly touch on my thoughts here, in hopes you'll go read the full review.
Simply put, The Island is a fun, sci-fi action movie which I suggest go seeing for a good time. Ewen McGregor and Scarlet Johanssen have good chemistry together and this movie just reinforces my crush I have on Ms. Johanssen. I seriously want to have like 500000 of her babies. She's a good actor and not to mention so very lovely. OK, I'll stop that before this turn into a drooling session. But yeah, the movie... Ewen and Scarlet play survivors of a global contamination that nearly wiped out the human race. Survivors are found and collected to a utopian society where they live on under a strictly defined life style. Ewen eventually discovers nothing is what it seems and he escapes with Scarlet to the outside world.
The movie will remind some people of sci-fi classics such as Logan's Run, Bladerunner and Dark City. I would definitely clump this movie into the same category or respect that those movies receive from sci-fi movie geeks.
Anyways, go read my full review for more details, as I've only touched on my feelings in this post.
