I first heard the premise for the movie and thought it was very intriguing. But I had also heard from a couple of people that it was a "chick flick" because it had Brad Pitt and all this love and emotion throughout.
Turns out, it's a fantastic movie. One of the better movies I have seen in a long time. I'd consider it sort of like a Forrest Gump type dramatic movie, with it's ups and downs (mostly downs). It was pretty amazing.
Loved the cinematography, and the music. The way they made Brad and hottie Cate Blanchett look like teenagers was incredible. Before watching the movie I had questions like how is an old man born and what happens when he grows infinitesimally young - does he just "pop" out of existence? The movie did a pretty good job at answering both questions.
IMDB has it ranked 8.5/10 with nearly 30,000 votes.
I thought Gran Torino was almost as good, and the Wrestler was unbelievable. I was close to tears during that movie. A true guy's movie that can move you like no other. I haven't been pulled into a movie like that in years. Mickey Rourke WILL be getting best actor. No doubt.
