Whitesox 5 Redsox 0 at the end of the first. Still lots of baseball left to play however...

WHEW! Redsox had runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 out in the top of the 3rd and guess who comes up, Manny Ramirez... I was more than a little nervous until he grounded out on the first pitch to end the inning.

Same score going into the bottom of the 3rd.

Paul Konerko hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the 3rd for the Whitesox.

At the end of three, it's the Whitesox 6 and the Redsox 0.

Eeep!

Whitesox had a rough top half of the 4th. A fielding error by 3rd baseman Joe Crede let runners advance to 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. The Redsox managed to string a few hits together and ended up scoring two runs.

Whitesox 6 Redsox 2

Juan Uribe has hit a 2-run homerun for the Whitesox and after 4 full innings, it's the Whitesox 8 and the Redsox 2.

The Whitesox have broken open the game in the bottom of the 6th.

Juan Uribe singled in a run and Scott Podsednik followed that up with a 3-run homer.
At the end of 6, it's the Whitesox 12 and the Redsox 2.

mental note: I really hope the Whitesox aren't blowing their offensive load in this single game.

I am nauseated by the Red Sox pitching
3 hit batsman, 5 homers given up (as of the 2nd Pierzinski blast). No composure at all... Clement fell apart and looked like he wanted his mommy, I can't fucking take it.
Gotta hand it to Contreras, he pitched great against a team that usually slaps him around, and stayed on the attack.
They need to bench Millar, start Olerud at first and bat Manny 3rd and Nixon 2nd

14-2 Chicago late in the 8th, how embarassing

The Whitesox will probably end up scoring like 5 runs over the next three games though...

on the bright side, the RS have gotten their weakest starter out of the way. The sad thing is, he's the game 5 (if necc.) starter.

4-0 Red Sox after 3 innings of play.

Wells looks tough. Beurle looks confused.

Hmmm... how come no more updates after that, Lovernios?

Oh... probably because Wells and the Redsox defense fell apart in the 5th when the Whitesox scored 5 and hung on to win 5 - 4.

I was at a bar last night celebrating my birthday (a day late) with coworkers and got to watch the game. I nearly lost my voice in that 5th inning cheering for my Sox. Great game.

Games 3 and 4 are in Boston and it's going to be another battle for sure.

Ya, I tailed off because of the usual torments, plus I got preoccupied with other crap.

The game was frustrating because the Red Sox had 2 decent rallies early, and looked like they were in a 'cruise control' of sorts, up until the 5th inning of course.
Errors like the one from Grafanino will surely happen, and I don't blame him for the loss, they had ample chances to overcome a shitty one run lead. Fuck, one swing from anyone in their lineup and we have a brand new game.
In fact, who was the one who had the 1 out double in the ninth for the Red Sox? Grafanino.
He atoned and gave his team a shot, but no one could get a fucking timely hit since the 3rd inning and Varitek's bases loaded single.
Credit goes to Jenks, though Papelbon pitched great too...
It's not over, but it's close...

I suppose if anyone wins the world series besides my currently LAME Red Sox, I'd like to see the White Sox do it... 2 longstanding curses eradicated in 2 years sounds fine to me.

BUT

It ain't over til it's over........

Well...

First off

CONGRATS TO THE WHITE SOX AND AARON AND THE REST OF CHICAGO AREA SPORTSFANS

Your team and manager kicked the living shit out of my inept, tired, uninspired, listless pack of spent out rich guys.
The Red Sox of 05' were a shill all along. Irony? Oh yes. Curt Shilling did not toss one pitch in this series. They had nothing but a 24 year old kid who tossed his team into a chance, only to have to watch as all the old goats boot the ball around and not get hits with men on after the 3rd inning.........................

Pierzynski was the man
He got the hits and caught the pitches...

Go Sox!

Nice job! I'm sure it was Aaron all along who inspired them to victory.
