6. Could you be so kind as to give me some details and information about the Controller? And what is it's name?
Info : As of right now, the Xbox 360's controller doesn't have a name. It probably won't either, just like the original Xbox controller (but by most called Duke). The controller is wireless for most of you that know. It can get up to 30 feet of play on two AA batteries. When they run low, you are given a warning on-screen to let you know to charge your controller. Right now Microsoft calls it the Play & Charge cable. Up to four controllers can be used at a time.
The Feel : If you have played Xbox countless of hours and have gotten the feel of the Controller S, then expect the feeling to creep up on you when playing with an Xbox 360 Controller. The thing that has been changed though is that the black and white buttons have been moved to the shoulder part of the controller, making the top seem like a Dual Shock controller. The left and right triggers are the same as the original Xbox, but the black and white buttons are in front of them, and while the trigger buttons are vertical, the black and white buttons are horizontal. There is another extra button also, called the Xbox Guide Button. It is at the center of the controller and gives you access to your system activities, such as movies, music, contacting friends on Xbox Live, and customizing your gameplay. It can even turn your system off or on!
As of right now, there seems too be a completely wired controller. This controller comes with the $300.00 dollar bundle. The Wireless Controller will come with the $400 one, and the controller retails for $50.
7. What are the other peripherals?
Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote - Basically, this is just a regular remote, although it can work on the Xbox 360. It can be programmed to a T.V. It has the same X, Y, A, B buttons as the Xbox 360's controller. It can play your DVD's and has control to your Media Center PC. Comes with the $400.00 bundle. Faces - I wouldn't call this a peripheral, but didn't know where else to put it, so eh. Faces are interchangable face plates that can go on the front of your Xbox 360. You can change your face to your mood. Memory Unit - Xbox 360 Memory Unit (64 MB). Easily portable, this lets gamers save games, in-game achievements and unique gamer profiles for quick and easy access on the go (estimated retail price $39.99 U.S./€34.99/£22.99*)
....::Xbox Live::....
8. Can you please explain the new Xbox Live to me?
Yeah....the meat and soul of the Xbox, according to Microsoft. The Dashboard is set up in different blades. Media Blade : This is where you can access and control your digital music and pictures that are on your hard drive, as well as play video files or Media Center Extender files if you have a Media Center Edition PC. Games Blade : The Games blade lists what games, demos, trailers, and downloadable content you%u2019ve downloaded from Xbox Live The System Blade : All of your system settings are adjusted here including audio, video, and more. Xbox Live Blade : his area is where you can manipulate your Xbox Live account, video chat, and get into the Xbox Live Marketplace.
There are 2 Tiers of online play, which are going to be explained now.
Silver Level - The silver mode of Xbox 360's Live is free of charge. It is also limited, though. You can only have access to the Marketplace, with gamer profiles, voice and text messaging, video messages from gold members, and some massive multiplayer online games.
Gold Level - The gold level is paid and includes all of the silver functionality along with online tournaments, video chat, multiplayer gaming, and Live special events.
t has up to 16-32 players online. On certain games, you can buy (yes buy, with real money by credit or debit card) certain add-ons for games. Games give you online acheivements, so you can see where you rank among other players. They also keep score of your offline achievments, for example Halo 2 might award players 500 points for beating the game on Legendary. This number is catalogued both on and offline, so if a hardcore gamer decides to sign up for Live a year after purchasing the new console, he will receive full gamerscore credit.
They also have 5 star ratings called reputation. Basically, your Gamercard stores EVERYTHING you do on the Xbox 360, and Xbox Live for the Xbox 360 is going to be the greatest online experience ever.
9. Does it have backwards compatibility with the Xbox games? Yes it does. *Josh Cox provided me with this information*
Microsoft settled the deal with the whole graphics card problem. The only reason the 360 *wasn't* going to play the original Xbox games was because the original GPU was Nvidia and their new version is ATI based. ATI couldn't legally make the games run without infringing on Nvidia copyrights. Now Microsoft has agreed to just pay a royalty to Nvidia for each 360 sold, and all games can be played on the 360.
SO YES, BACKWARDS COMPATABILITY IS IN THERE ALL THE WAY!
10. What is all of this High Definition talk?
Ok. Let me start by saying this. YOU DO NOT NEED A HIGH DEFINITION T.V. TO PLAY THE GAMES! IT JUST MAKES THEM LOOK A HELL OF ALOT BETTER!
Now that's off of my chest, this should sum it up. All games support a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a minimum of 720p resolution with 2x full-scene anti-aliasing enabled. The embedded Microsoft web-tv chip is able to automatically reformat 720p to the best available display resolution including 480i, 480p, 1080i as well as dynamically crop or scale 16:9 to fit 4:3 screens. Some games will optionally support native 1080i and 480p video resolutions as well.
11. Hardrive?
Yup. 20 Gigabyte Detachable. More sizes later on in the future.
12. What other kinds of disk formats will the Xbox 360 take? Ok, here goes. Progressive-scan DVD movie playback out of the box; DVD and CD music and photo playback out of the box; support for DVD-Video, DVD-ROM, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, WMA CD, MP3 CD, JPEG Photo CD.
12. What kind of disks will be used?
Standard DVD disks, although they say most games will run dual layered, which means over 9 gigabytes of data. The speed will run at 12X. So that means no HD-DVD or Blu-ray! If they DID put either one of those in the system, the price will get jacked sky hi.
13. How big will the system be compared to the original Xbox?
If you stacked the two systems on top of each other (which you clearly cannot because of the Xbox 360's concave design) you will notice that the Xbox 360 is .5 inches smaller on both sides, and 1.25 inches shorter from the base to the top of the system. Confused? Look at the picture below.
14. What comes packaged with the system? *Information provided my migman8191*
So it comes with a hard drive and 1 wireless controller (Pretty much already speculated.) Ethernet cable and, headset. You can buy wireless and wired controllers, memory unit, rechargable battery pack (not included ) and lots of other optional stuff.
