Ever wanted to be able to emulate Playstation games on your computer? While its not nearly as simple as say emulating gameboy advance,Its still possible and once you do a bit of research its not NEARLY as hard as it may seem!

In this guide i'll be providing you with every possible resource available to successfully emulate playstation one games via ePSXe Emulator.ePSXe Is the most widely used and one of the very best playstation emulators available to date. You can view the ePSXe Homepage at:

[Click, Dick]

1:WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Ive Uploaded EVERYTHING you will need for ePSXe Into one easy rar file that you can download at: [Click, Dick]

This Download includes ePSXe V1.52,V1.60,ePSXexecutor,Bios SCPH 1001,Bios SCPH 7502,A comprehensive emulation guide and ive even put a link to some helpful information on Project 64 emulator in there too.
If your looking for some more Playstation bios and other rare bios's for other emulators you can find a great source at:

2: MINIMUM SYSTEM SPECS:

1. Processor (CPU)

The minimum processor for ePSXe is a 200 MHz (MMX) Pentium, but a 450 MHz
Pentium 2 is recommended. This means that you can play ePSXe with a
200 MHz CPU, but your performance will be very low. If you you have a
450 MHz CPU your performance should be nearly perfect. In general though,
the better your CPU, the better your performance will be. You can find out
your processor speed by right-clicking on "My Computer" and selecting
"properties" from the menu that pops up.

2. RAM (Memory)

How much RAM (Memory) your pc has. The minimum you should have to
play ePSXe is about 32000 KB of RAM (The recommended amount is
128000 KB of RAM. You can find how much RAM (Memory) you have by
Double clicking on "My Computer" Next, click the "Help" menu and
select "About Windows.." At the bottom of the window that pops up,
it should say "Physical memory available to Windows:" If the
number next to that is not above 32000KB, you will still probably
be able to play the games, but not at a very good speed.

3. Graphics Card

There isn't a set graphics card you have to have because ePSXe has a large
variety of graphics plugins, but in general you should have a Newer NVidia
Card (TNT or Geforce) or a Newer ATi Card (Rage or Radeon). I'm not going
to really give any extra information on any plugins except for Pete's GPU
plugins. You can find out what video card you have by Right-clicking the
desktop and going to "properties" this should bring up the "Display
Properties" window. Next, click the "Settings" tab near the top. Somewhere
in that window it should say something like "Monitor on xxxxxxx" xxxxxxx
being your graphics card's name. You should also make sure you have
up-to-date drivers by going to [Click, Dick] and installing
any new drivers they have listed there.

4. Sound Card

Really, any sound card that works with Windows should work with ePSXe.

5. CD-ROM Drive

It isn't required to have one, but you should. Most CD-Rom drives out there
are fast enough.

6. Controllers (Joypads/gamepads, whatever you want to call them)

Any controller that you have that has windows drivers and works with other pc games should work with ePSXe.

3: INSTALLING YOUR FILES:
Once you have ePSXe put into "ePSXe" folder, the bios file put into the
"ePSXe/Bios" folder, and "Pete's GPU" plugins put into the "ePSXe/Plugins/ folder,
double-click the file "ePSXe.exe" (it looks like a little playstation controller)
and ePSXe should load. It should also load up a setup wizard. If the wizard doesn't
come up, click on the "Wizard Guide"

This section of the ePSXe Guide will help you go through this wizard.

1. Click the "Config >>" button on the first page of the wizard.

2. This section is called "Configuring the Bios" Your bios should be shown in the
white box near the middle of the window; click on it (the bios) and click the
"Next >>" button.

3. This section is called "Configuring the Video" In this section, ePSXe should
tell you what plugin you should select for your video card. But if it does not,
you should probably just pick "Pete's D3D Driver" (if your card is made by ATi),
"Pete's OpenGL Driver" (if your card is made by NVidia) or "Pete's DX6 D3D Driver"
for any other manufacturer. Having picked your plugin, click the "Next >>" button.

4. This section is called "Configuring the Sound" In this section, you should just
pick the option called "ePSXE SPU core" Having done this, click the "Next >>"
button.

5. This next section is called "Configuring the CDrom" In this section, ePSXe will
show "ePSXE CDR ASPI core" and "ePSXE CDR WNT/W2k core" You should pick the option
"ePSXE CDR ASPI core" if you are running Windows 95/98/ME on your pc. You should
select "ePSXE CDR WNT/W2k core" if you are running Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 on your
computer. (This can be found out by clicking the "Help" menu and selecting
"About Windows..." in any open folder.

6. The next section is called "Configuring the Pads" In this section, you will see
two buttons that say "Controller 1" and "Controller 2" To setup the controller
for the first player, click "Controller 1" On the window that comes up, click the
boxes that correspond to the button you want to set with your mouse. Now push the
button on your controller/pad you want set as the button for what you selected.
Once you have all of your buttons selected, click the "ok" button. Now, you can
set up the second player controller by clicking the "Controller 2" button if you
wish (just repeat what you did for this). Having finished setting up your
controllers click the "Next >>" button.

7. Click the "Done" button.
