Okay, here's the situation. The Pentagon admits that over $3 Trillion is missing from the Defense Department. $59 billion went missing from HUD in one year, and that year was 1999. Social Security has been looted -- ehem, tapped for emergency funds -- at least three times since 9/11. No one ever seems to follow up to see if the money ever gets replaced. The few pension funds that aren't in default have been looted, from Enron to the federal government. The game of catch up never seems to get paid. No one is accountable, and the people just nod at the talking heads on the TV screen and accept it.
And now we see the last desperate attempt to keep the government itself from going into default. Notice, this will only hold off the ballooning debt for a few weeks to give Congress time to vote themselves a higher credit limit. And still we spend and consume.
No matter who assures you that it's 'just a loan', who insists that the economy is fine, that dwindling oil, multi-trillion dollar investment bubbles, and some of the worlds biggest companies being on the verge of bankruptcy won't affect us, it's time to stop watching CNN and Faux News and start paying attention to what the elites do, not what they say.
