You know, I'm not all that into "pop" music, and I really didn't watch AI until the last 2 seasons. Let's just say that last season (and I'm only going to compare last season's guys to the guys this season for the moment, since that's all we've seen up to tonight of the new season) we had "The Rocker", "The Soul Patrol" and various others. It was something different, and not this typical, cookie-cutter musical ability we hear on most pop stations today.

This year, however, NOT ONE PERSON (ok, maybe the last guy, and not because I'm currently living in Florida) stood out like they did last year. It's a shame, I thought that AI FINALLY got the message and learned how to attract even non-pop-liking people like me.

On a side note, I think that there are more "minor minorities" on the show this year. Again, I'll make sure you all understand FULLY before bashing my statement. It seems that in recent years it's been pretty "black/white", and this year seems less so, and more "other" minority. This is not a bad thing, but it just helps me to think that maybe some people are correct (or leaning toward correct) when they say that the show tries to "influence" who wins. I think maybe there was some heat about this, and thus, our more recent "turnaround" for the "top-24".

Then again, since these people didn't really stand out to me tonight, maybe I just didn't really notice otherwise, however, I thought it moreso when I saw the announcement of the girls to come up after the show.

I hope the girls are better.

PS: I don't want it to seem like I didn't like ANY of the guys or think they weren't any good, they just didn't "call out" to me; you know?
