No clue what happened. Happened over the weekend.Talked to somebody earlier who said it could have been a murder/suicide. Rumor had it he was under a shitload of stress. Anyway, however it went down, still depressing. He and his wife left behind the other son and i heard he has 1 or 2 more children from a previous relationship, one of them being a teenager (not sure how true that is, I'll go reread on wwe.com).
Benoit just got drafted over to ECW from Smackdown. Nancy was also involved in ECW storylines as well as some storylines, if i rememeber correctly, with Kevin Sullivan way back. I think she went by *Woman*

Someone link me to a credible source; it seems there's a LOT of 'urban myth' behind wrestling ... Then again, I remember the 'Owen Hart Death' coming up as a hoax at first as well ...
no no.. this one's true... you can check out [Click, Dick] to find out some real links and shit... WWE has gone and removed Benoit's name from just about everything, and has banned his merchandise from being sold.... When it comes to shit like this, you KNOW i've done my homework....
the (somewhat) official reports are that Chris told WWE his family was ill so he could go home...(reasons behind everything still unknown, as there was no note or anything left behind...) On Friday night, it's said Chris strangled his wife nancy.... On either saturday morning, or saturday night, Chris then went and smothered his 7yo son in his bed.... (time unknown as of yet).... Then, it's believe that either very late on saturday, if not sunday morning, Chris then hung himself with a weight bench pulley and cable.... Also, it was mentioned in several articles that a bible was placed by the bodies of each victim (Nancy and Daniel)...
Chris had sent several texts to people that were a little "off", such as "My address is XXXXXXXX" complete with street number, name, and zipcode.... a coulpe of other people got ones saying "I left the dogs outside... the door to the gatehouse is open..."(or something).... Upon a couple of people at WWE receiving these messages, they contacted one of the higher ups in the company... and tried calling Chris... no answer on his cell phone or the house phone... they then called the police to do a safety check on the premises... It took a good hour to get into the house (the dogs were german shepards.. thus, the hour it took), and upon entering the house, found the bodies and contacted WWE to tell them that they had found bodies, and the house was not a major crime scene....
WWE was supposed to have a live event that night, and had cancelled it HOURS before opening the doors... instead of the live event, they showed a "Best of Benoit" night.... The whole three hours (they were doing a special that night for all three brands) was dedicated to chris and aired his best matches....
Following the end of the show, I checked out WWE.com and found that they had ruled the tragedy "a double murder suicide"... Later reports from CNN.com had given the information you see above (about the ways the victims were killed)... When the police entered the home, Nancy was found to be bound in her office of the home, with blood near her head area which indicated to the homicide team that there was a struggle.... The struggle did damage to her throat, thus causing the bleeding... The son's time of death was unknown, and could have been as late as saturday night...
The police also did find anabolic steriods inside the home, and upon first instinct, thought they belonged to Chris.... It would be easy to pass the blame of this on to him and call it 'roid rage.... However, several neighbors had mentioned that chris' son was smaller than average 7yo's, thus providing an acceptable side conclusion... Plus, upon further investigation, it's RUMORED that the child did indeed have puncture wounds that would come from a needle in his arms....
Since the WWE was apalled at the heinousness of the issues here, they have since clamped on any and all Chris Benoit merdhandise and likenesses.. I'd not be surprised if they removed just about all products that had his likenesses on it... Wrestlemania XX DVD's are now on the website, and they decline to mention the fact that Chris was the main event player that evening... instead, they ONLY list the other two opponents he had that night (Triple H and Shawn Michaels)...
In addition to all this, Chris was supposed to have wrestled for the ECW world title on the pay-per-view event this past sunday... I have to say it was rather odd when it came time for him to enter the arena, and the announcer said "And his oppoent, taking the place this evening for Chris Beniot......." Then, and ONLY then, did the play-by-play announcers say that chris was not there due to "personal issues"
Following the events of the early tuesday investigations into what happened in the Benoit family house, Vince immediately taped a small speech:
"Last night on Monday Night Raw, the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit. However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent.
Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, the WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world – entertain you.
Usually, when they have a superstar that's passed on, they will honor him with a spot in the Hall of fame the evening before wrestlemania..... However, I can NOT see them doing this for Benoit based on this whole tragedy... As of right now, it looks as though they are just going to ignore anything and everything having to do with him, and what he's done for the business...
I have to say, it's a shame really... This guy was, in my mind, the best performer bar none... NOBODY could hold a candle to him when it came to actual technical wrestling... He patterened his ring style after a legendary performer, Tom Billington (better known as the Dynamite Kid), and in my eyes, FAR eclipsed Billington... Chris was a tank! when he was in that ring, everyone knew they were going to be in for a hell of a fight... He had the more respect than just about anyone in the locker room, sparing perhaps the Undertaker (Mark Calloway)... His in-ring nickname was "the Crippler" because of his love of submission moves that are designed to incompacitate your opponent.... Now, I'm waiting on the newspapers and other forms of media to pick up on this and call him Chris "the Strangler" Benoit....
It is doubtful wether there will ever be a motive behind any of this... Everybody and their brother are now in speculation mode... Was it depression? Was his wife going to leave him? Perhaps his alterered mental status was due to chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a condition that can cause "bizarre, paranoid behavior"? Truthfully, we'll never know...
Honestly, it doesn't much matter anymore... He was one HELL of a performer, who has now gone and lost any credibility to his legacy because of his actions on that particular weekend.. If the WWE has anything to say or do about this, it won't be long before Benoit's name is erased, or hidden, from just about ANY public document in their possession....
It saddens me, really, because he was without a doubt in my mind the absolute best i've ever seen.....................................

this whole story is fucked up. My mom was asking me today about him having road rage. I had to sit her down and explain steroids, the difference between between "wrestler" steroids and "asthma" steroids, and that he had (or "may have had") *roid* rage, not road rage.
i feel bad for the kid, mostly, then feeling somewhat badly for the wife. I followed the story and it came out that the son has some sort of condition, which i dont recall the name of. rather than put him in in special classes in a special school and hire ppl to help take care of him, nancy just took it all on. Newsflash: ppl do not always have perfect children, their kids can end up being disabled, mentally retarded, slow, whatever.I cant imagine what it would be like to be in a situation where my husband or partner was more concerned with ignoring the issues of the child and putting on a front. Benoit, while not being in the public eye like, say, Tom Cruise, is still famous and perhaps had that *I'm chris benoit, this doesnt happen to me* sort of attitude about the family and his son. It was mentioned that his wife wanted him to spend more time at home to help take care of their son. No shit. Just me assuming shit here, just a theory: instead of dealing with their child's problems, benoit probably just woudl have rather pushed it under the rug, not draw attnetion to it, and of course the wife isnt working, he makes plenty of $$$. But it had to be hard for her to take care of a kid who NEEDED outside help/intervention and did not get it. They probably argued about that shit, a lot, and probably was responsible for a lot of the reasons they had marital issues. anyway, i feel they both failed their child and Benoit morwe than likely was in his right state of mind. The bibles show remorse, plus the fact he killed himself, he more than likely didnt want to face the consequnces (i watch a lot of law and order). Katie Price has a disabled son, he's right there on her show with her. She might be a big-tittied bimbo but at least she has some heart. Now, as far as his dr goes, that fucker needs to be thrown into prison. He KNEW prescribing all those fucking drugs was WRONG. i dotn care that he did it for the $$$, that benoit was his friend, etc. Benoit was 100% to blame for taking the drugs he did. But no doctor of sound fucking mind would prescribe all that shit to one person, throw his ass in prison while Benoit rots in hell.
