If you haven't seen the first 3 movies.... you will be totally lost on this one. Even if you have seen the first 3 movies it doesn't come together till the end, which is pleasantly (disturbingly) surprising. Best parts are the background of JigSaw, and, umm... that's about it.

*best watched when you are totally focused on the film and just watched the previous ones

I saw the first three. I thought the first one was ok.

I watched the second and third because I think Shawnee Smith is attractive. Not really a good reason to watch a movie, but it's the explanation for why I watch quite a few movies.

I thought the second and third were pretty mediocre. I thought the third in particular was really bad - they tipped their hand about what was going to happen waaaaaay too early and made the entire thing boring.

I agree with that; 4 was much better ...
... it was laggy at parts, but it helped explain a lot of things

I saw most of the first one, and it was just AWFUL. Cary Elwes ought to stick to Robin Hood parodies and The Princess Bride.

That said, the ending did genuinely surprise me. It was definitely the best bit.
