PLANTATION. -- Plantation police didn't have to go far to investigate a murder-suicide. It happened in their parking lot.

A woman was chased into the parking lot of the police station by a man in a car. Police say he rammed her with the car and then shot her as she tried to seek shelter in the police station.

Officers came out of the station and shot at the man who then took his own life.

While police have not released the names of either of the people involved they say they were not married but had been in an argument before the murder-suicide.

Plantation is located just outside Fort Lauderdale in South Florida.
