it saddens and angers me, im sure it does you guys as well. i put $10 in the tank anymore, we barely go anywhere. what is your average in your area? here, the cheapest lately is around 3.89, it may have went up who knows? i hear in japan, it's like $4 a liter. dont knwo how true that is. but i believe it, that would be $16 a gallon.
The cheapest (lowest grade regular) in town today is $4.05.
I found a newspaper in the wall of a building I'm repairing, day before yesterday there was an add from a well known local auto parts store / gas station.
The advertised price of gas was 19-9/10. Essentially ... 20 cents a gallon.
In case you are wondering the paper was dated 1950
Hey, maybe as I predicted years ago, the cost of gas will break $5.00 a gallon before bush is forced from office.

pffft... you Americans and your inexpensive petrol. I dont even complain about the $1.45 a litre I currently pay, I know it could be much much worse. That's US$5.46 a gallon (The Aussie dollar is at near parity with the US dollar and is predicted to be worth more than the US dollar by the end of the year. Your currency sucks). As for Japan, my memory of the price of petrol from last October was around 150 Yen a litre, so I'd imagine it's a bit higer than that now. Guessing at 200 Yen a litre, that makes it about US$7.20 a gallon.
I think the turbo petrol Mondeo is off the cards, in favour for a turbo diesel Mondeo instead. I'd be happy with the 7 litres per hunderd kilometres milage I'd get out of it.
