When i was 14 i went to a friends cottage up north. Long story short, we found a dead body in some bull rushes near the shore of simcoe lake. It must have been in the water for a long time, because the skin was all loose and well, it was pretty disgusting. Not really scary for me, but it was disturbing...

Scariest experience was probably my first time on acid, watching scooby doo...

I had a scary acid trip too.... in vegas......I cried for two hours about the crack whores selling their ass and consequently their souls for drugs....
and would soon be left with no money, no drugs, no looks, and no skills to find another job.....
my boyfriend tried to cheer me up by saying they probily would'nt live long enough to worry about the future.
still a fucking bummer to me sober.....I just dont cry.

one time, in NYC, maybe 1989
I was on the subway, with a small group of friends
we were in and out of subways and crap all day, goin all over etc
homeless were all over then, alotta begging going on, but no one gave any panhandlers a nickle because we were jaded fucks, and alot of these peeps looked able-bodied etc

this one guy in the subway. no shoes, his feet were black and raw, and just ghastly. stunk to high-fucking hell, dirty, worst ya could think. he opens the back door to the subway with a slam, closes it, and drops to his knees. he goes the length of the subway car on his knees, the car was stone quiet, and there was like 100 people in it. the guy made a mint, we all gave money etc
he gets to the end of the car, stands, does the door thing, and we see him drop straight down to do it all again in the next car

also, I saw my father in law (at the time) give mouth to mouth to a guy who just washed up on shore on a nice sunny Sunday morning in the south carribean. there was like 10 pounds of snot coming out of the guy, yet he's trying. guy was dead for hours haha
rum will do that

also... the 1/2 hour or so I thought my kid could possibly maybe have been still in my apartment building while it was on fire was about as sucky a thing as possible...
but, the kid grabbed the cat and her coat while there was thick smoke etc... got to the street, got hyterical as a mofo, and some good samaritan (who I still have no idea who is) brings kid to our friends, drops her off, and leaves.)

I lived next door to my old high school in atlanta...me and my ex used to
walk his dog around it but it would'nt go near the batting cage...it would bark and back away from there...so we went and sat on the bleachers facing it and my bf goes...do you see it?
I looked at the batting cage and said ...a rolling fuck scene?
yeah...
we sat there and watched this ghost girl get raped over and over by four
ghost guys for an hour in horror.
we and the dog were sober.....so I got obsessed with this shit!
I was back every night for a month...alone and with all my friends ..
I could'nt belive it. the whole football field was haunted as hell. I found
several other ghosts.
when you walked up to the gate , there was a figure in the bleachers across the field......when you walked to the bleachers it was gone and there was a person standing at the gate.
when you look up at the empty box that the announcer sat in...figures moved around in the shadows.
my friends started warning me to stay away from the fucking spooks there............ it was bad...
....this shit started where everytime I went to sleep...
in the twillight between awake and asleep...group screaming would wake me up.
it sounded like the beginning of pink floyds "breathe"...or .."the wall"
..............with the chopper noise then AAAAHHHHHHHHH!
it didnt stop till I moved from that apt.
like they followed me home....how weird is that ?
I have seen so many ghosts it surprises me when others havent.
not recently tho....luckily.
they cant hurt you but they make you very nervous.
the whole town knows about the school....its urban legend there.
the kids know.
even the apts I lived in were 50 years old and alot of people died there
creeeeepy!

the school...boarded up the tool shed and batting cage now it was so weird.

The creepiest moment I can think of (or that I care to share) happened a few years ago during my last week before I graduated college.

I was driving home one night, down Plumb Grove Rd. There was a car about 10 car lengths ahead of me and we were doing about 55. All of a sudden I spot something appear from underneath the car in front. It was still far ahead but my headlights were reflecting in its EYES. It quickly hit me that it was a little brown cat who had been hit by a car. The poor thing was still flaying wildly, trying to get up and away. It must have had a broken back/hip as it was going anywhere. I slowed down but it was too late to do anything. I stared right into its frightened eyes just before it passed under my car. I couldn't stop in the middle of the 4 lane road and go back... so I just continued on, completely in shock.

I'm starting to cry just thinking about this again. I currently have two cats and have had cats around me my entire life (a total of 6). I love them and seeing this helpless, dying cat nearly made me have a breakdown with all the other stress I was going through with finishing school.

*goes off to find Leo and give him a big hug... only to come back covered in my bite and scratch marks*

Cats are great.

*hugs Aaron* And that is scary Mike, to think a loved one was in the fire, great ghost story Suz.

I thought you meant psychologically scary, NY scary stories I have plenty. A few years ago, me and one of my good friends who wrote live music reviews for a small paper in TX decided we were moving to NY. She was going to be a writer and I was going to finish my masters in fine art, so I sold my car and off we went on this high adventure. The first place we lived was Williamsburg, just across the bridge from Manhattan in Brooklyn. It was the new trendy artsy place to be, or so we thought. The particular neighborhood we ended up in seemed fine enough, families walking the streets, little restaurants and shops, etc, the rent was ridiculous, but all was well, we found a place within a few weeks and could get out of living with our friend in her illegal warehouse abode with the do it yourself shower or the hotel in Chinatown with the bathroom down the hall and only enough room for 2 twin beds in a row, a room style they called a train because of it's shape. What we didn't expect was what happened after dark.

Our quiet little family neighborhood, after nightfall, locked up tight, garage doors slamming shut to the shops, all people off the street except for well, gangs I guess is what you call them. In this neighborhood, the ice cream truck ran at 3am in the morning and I don't think it was selling ice cream. If we left our windows open for air at night, we would hear wails and screams and sobbing coming from somewhere, but since we were in a 10 story walkup, surrounded by the same, there would be no luck trying to locate to help them, we could only listen and worry. When we did call the police, they always said they will check it out, but never seemed to actually come around. Once I was out shopping, it got to be sunset and a street cop asked me why I was a girl out alone in this neighborhood at this time of day, saying that I should be inside or not in this neighborhood.

One night we came home from clubbing to find the street and the entrance to our apt. building roped off with yellow police tape and a guy laying in front on the sidewalk with a knife stuck in his head. We decided to move ASAP. The apt. we had next was in alphabet city, lower east side Manhattan right next to Tompkins Square Park and St. Marks, what luck right? What we didn't know then was that the very nice and mild mannered man that rented the place to us was actually running a whole series of illegal sublets around Manhattan and our particular apt. was owned by some sort of gang or mafia types, we still don't really know for sure. We just know a few months in and we kept getting messages on our answering machine about how our landlord better come up with the rent or else someone would be there to "take care" of the situation and we "wouldn't like" the results. Problem was we were paying the rent to that guy, our landlord, but he wasn't giving the rent to the people that actually owned the apt. We had spent the last of our funds on moving and paying security, etc, so we had no where to go, we answered the phone to one of these calls and just told them the whole situation. A seemingly nice enough lady shows up to meet us saying she would now be our landlord, that she actually owned the place and would we call the guy we had sublet from so she could work it all out with him. We called him to come to meet her, after which point 3 thugs show up with guns and shuffle me and my friend into the back bedroom. When the landlord shows up all we hear is him being beat up, we were told that they hog tied him and took him back to his apt. to get the money they were owed. We were thinking we were next, but the woman only made arrangements for our rent and left. We called the police after they left, at which point we found out that the apt. was actually belonging to an elderly lady which had died and it's ownership was being battled for in the courts. We moved to our musician friend's apt. and slept on the floor for the rest of our stay in Manhattan, a few months later, I came back to TX, to be with Chris, also, having had enough of my little NY adventure. But still, all and all, I had lots of fun in NY, got to attend a great art school and I will have lots of stories to tell my grandkids if I ever have any, lol. And I won't even tell you about the time I was nearly raped on the subway.

its at 7275 roswell road.....north springs high school in atlanta ga,
.....people who I brought there skeptical...left fuckin'skeered!

I saw a ghost in my apt across the street from there
...and heard one....

well...this one is a doosey too!

I was asleep next to my BF...and I sleep with a fan on to drown out daytime noise...Ive always been a night person.
.....I was dead ass asleep and I woke up to click! click! click! click!
so I threw back the covers and got up going toward the fan saying
"the goddamn oscillating fan is stuck!"
I get there and stop.....my bf (different bf from last story) goes.." that aint the oscillating fan suz...."
I sat down on the end of the bed
......."its comming from under the bed"..I could feel the bed moving
everytime it went click! click!
...................I freaked and it woke me right up!

I was on my knees in the middle of the bed ....trying to keep my feet from getting eaten off or some crap....and it sounded like someone knocking or running all the way around the room...it started behind me on that wall
then moved all the way around all four walls....and I was out the fucking door....sounded like when squrells scamper across a roof or something
but this was an end apt made of brick!
I dunno how that noise could be made in there in that way.
impossible.
we went to the bfs house to sleep that night....

everytime I had these kind of experiences I live in the apts next to the school.

....the first one I saw.

I woke up in the middle of the night....and turned over,
as I turned over I could see the dinning room from the bed.
....there was a girl sitting in one of the DR chairs looking right at me.
I blinked and she was gone but I flushed with chills and the hair on my neck stood up.
I got up and turned on all the lights, and kept them on for a very very long time after.
all my friends said....
.........how much acid did ya do suz?
only my parents belived me....my mom stayed w/ me a week or so after the hant.
