About 6 months ago, I decided to get a personal trainer.
The very first workout, she made me do 100 squats as a warmup. At the time, I thought this is a bit extreme for my first time. Then I thought, hey, I don't know what I'm doing and she does. Then of course, it was hard to walk for a few days.
A few weeks later, she made me do a bunch of arm excercises. in one workout. She took me to several machines and I did multiple repetitions. Toward the end, she had to help me because I was so fatigued. Then when I woke up that night, I couldn't move my left arm. The next day, I couldn't even lift my arm. When I called her about it, she said it was normal. But, since I couldn't even lift my arm, I went to the doctor, who told me I strained my tricep muscle.
And then, on Friday, she made me do 200 Bosu situps. Yeah, so toward the end I thought: this is going to be one of those really painful weekends. Sure, enough. I can barely stand up, sit down, or move my sides without immense pain. Sure, it will go away, but...
Is my trainer psycho extreme, or am I just a wimp? Even if she is extreme, I still don't think I'd say anything. I'm sort of afraid to because after the arm incident, she got really defensive and weird. It was a touchy subject, like I was challenging her training knowledge or something.

Dump your trainer. She's not so much extreme as just retarded.
It's normal to have some pain at first, after a heavy workout. But workouts like those are meant for people who've gotten to a point where they can handle them. You don't start with 100 squats, you start with 3 sets of 10 (or something reasonable like that), then you work your way up to more weight and more reps.
Seriously, just ditch her. Unless she's blowing you too, in which case maybe it's worth it?
Yeah, that seems a bit harsh... They're supposed to do an assessment of your condition first, not thorw you in the deep end straight away.
Besides, you're paying, you can tell her when too much is too much. Got nothing to do with being wimpy, more to do with getting your moneys worth without suffering disabling injuries. Nobody ever becomes Mr Universe overnight. Except maybe the Hulk.
So I talked to her about it today, and she asked me if I was depressed. According to her, you experience more severe pain when depressed. I don't think she'll ever get it.

Try to nail her... and if you do, show her the kind of pain you copped!
