the other day, i get chinese, about $7 worth. i hand her a $20. she hands me like $19 back. what the hell?
of course, i bring it to her attention.
this has happened ot me a few times before in the past year, where they give me back way too much change. an old man in front of me also dropped $$$ before and i found over $10 dropped on the floor of walgreens when i was an employee only to find out an old man had misplaced his $$$. so i gave it to him. he dropped it. he mentioned the amount
it's like i feel im gonna go to Hell if i keep lost $$$, if Hell exists, which i doubt but i guess Hell to me=an unclear conscience.
i am not sure i would return a bunch of $$$ that was accidentally dumped onto the street from a Wells-Fargo truck, tho. although, me debating it means my dumb ass would turn it in.
Don't feel bad, I'm like you on that. I don't keep money if it's something I find. If you don't want to think of it in a heaven/hell thing, think of it in terms of karma. If you find 10$ now, you'll lose 20 or more soon.
I'm totally screwed on the karma thing. When I go to Home Depot or Lowes to get materials, I look over the cashiers on the way in to determine who the biggest stoner is. Then I take a large order to that person because I KNOW they're going to miss something, usually something big. Saves me $100 on average. Last time it was 8 bundles of conduit, at about $60 per bundle.
like, if i find a random $50 bill in a Walmart parking lot, i WILL swipe that up. i dont feel guilty about that. but more isolated instances, i cant do it.
Oh, I NEVER give the fucking money back. I think my Karma is reflected by my Fallout 3 character, Satana-Zu. She's pure evil, for the most part only for picking every lock at her skill level and stealing basically fucking everything that isn't bolted down.
Hmmm, I should start start a Fallout 3 thread if there isn't already one.
