JENN!
Newpic

Is your name really Jenn? What is your middle name?
Yep! Jenn, of course, short for Jennifer. My middle name is Anne.

What makes you qualify as a nut?
My entire family.. haha. Seriously, though.. I'm weird when I'm hyper, which is where that name comes from.

How old are you?
21, as of July 6th

How do you feel today?
Okay, for a change. I got a lot accomplished at work smile

Where are you from? Is it your hometown?
I am from Pittsburgh, PA. Born and raised.

Are you from a big or small family? Sibs? Oldest? Ancestors? Oldest living family member?
I wouldn't say huge, but we're nowhere near small, either. My dad's mom had 6 kids and my mom's mom had 7. Do all of the adding of everyone having kids.. yadda yadda yadda.. and sooner or later you get the point lol. I have 2 brothers (Bill 28, Joe 26) and one sister (Aimee 26). My brothers are my dad's kids, and my sister is my moms. I'm the "only child" of both my mom and my dad. I don't know about my ancestors, although that is something that I've always been interested in. One day, I plan on having someone research my lines. MY oldest family member, closest to me (just b/c theres too many to go through) is my Gram who is 74.

What is/was the main goal today, so you could be productive as a human should?
Today as in literally, or today as in figuratively?

Describe your job a bit...
I work in the gift shop at Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh, part-time. I actually do like the job. At first, I hated it.. but it definitely has grown on me. My title there is "Sales Associate". The employees there do pretty much what a manager does, minus all of the paperwork. Retail is a good experience. I think that even if someone doesn't stay there long, a period of time working in retail should be necessary.

Is a "bad hair day" or so, reason enough call a day a bad one, or are you the type of person that smiles and moves on well?
No, it takes a lot for me to say I'm having a bad day. I try to stay positive, but that's hard for me to do at home. Outside of home, I'm almost always happy. It would most definitely take a few things to make it an all-together, bad day.

Did you believe in Santa as a kid? How did you find out Santa is a huge corporate lie/pawn?
lol. I did believe in Santa. One year, I found a price sticker on one of my gifts. At that point in time, I'd been questioning whether or not he was real, but was still teetering on the fine line. So I asked my mom one day, and she said that he wasn't real. Not even five seconds later, my sister goes "well yeah, you didn't think the easter bunny was real either, did you?" .... I most definitely still believed in the easter bunny lol.

How was your high school experience?
Oy! My high school experience. I don't know that I'd call it school.. more like 8 hours to socialize. I don't feel that I learned anywhere near as much as I should have, as I find myself rather "dumbfounded" on some subjects. These are subjects that I think I should know about (ie - politics, literature.. yanno.. jeopardy questions lol). Otherwise, it was fun. Didn't learn much but the basics, but it was fun.

What is the next step in life for Jenn? What was the last?
My next step in life is to gradate college with an Associates Degree in Child and Family Studies from community college. After that, I plan on working in a daycare for a year or so before I start nannying. Before this, I was unemployed for a year and a half doing pretty much nothing.

Do you have your own place or live with folks? How's that working out?
I live with my parents and my gram. I think it works out most of the time until someone uses/takes/eats my stuff. As long as something that I spent isn't taken advantage of, I can tolerate living here. I think that the time is due for me to move out on my own soon, though. When/if that does happen, I don't see myself moving far.. at least not for a few years.

What is it that frustrates you when it comes to spirituality?
The only thing that frustrates me is when people try to force their views, opinions and "rules" on me. I don't worship a "God", and I'm not spiritual to start off with. I've taken Sunday school classes, and I went to church when I was a kid/teenager. So it's not like I didn't know what was going on when I decided to make the decision of being Agnostic. I, myself, just don't like the idea of worshiping/religion.

Is God inherently good, and we just haven't been shown why there is so much strife to life?
I say life is what you make it out to be.

What are some things that are important to you, things or people that are impacted by your decisions?
Things that are important to me are most of my family (which includes my pets), my friends (who can be considered family, too), my music, and my car. I don't really have a reason why, other than they offer releases, advice or support.

What is your sign? Do you put much stock in any 'new age' religions or concepts?
I am a Cancer (I believe that's what you were asking). And no, I don't smile

What do you do to relax, in a productive sense, not watching TV etc?
Usually play w/the dog or groom him. It's time consuming, it helps him out, and he wouldn't be able to get far without the help of my family and I.

What are some goals of yours, for the next few years?
Just to become and stay financially secure. I don't want to be weathy (although it'd be nice), I just want to be comfortable.

What has been some of the good/great points of interest in your life so far?
I don't know if there's really any remarkable points in my life that have made an impact. That's somethign that'd take a long time for me to think about. Some things that come to mind, though, was when my dad quit drinking.. and the day I realized that my friends are really truly here for me, whatever happens.

What is it about you that's so damn charming, I mean really?
I'm charming? Damn. No one's ever told me that before lol. I honestly have no clue lol.

What is the most difficult thing you've ever done?
Face my friend after I wrecked her car

What was something that happened that was a huge surprise?
My cousin Justin showing up one day at my house. He'd had two weeks of R&R and came here to visit smile

What about you makes a good friend?
I suppose maybe that I will listen to anything, try to provide good advice, be there whenever someone needs me, drop everything so long as it's possible.

What kinds of characteristics in other people do you value most?
Caring, respect, morals

What kind of media do you pay attention to for news? Network TV? Newspaper? Internet?
All of the above. I'm most definitely a news junkie.

Do you think the rate of change in this world is changing as well, and how so?
Oh yes.. I definitely do. If it weren't changing, we'd still be cavemen/monkeys.

How has the flooding of New Orleans and Katrina's wake affected you?
It makes me value, even more, what I do have. These people that are newly homeless lost everything they ever worked for or gained. I can't even fathom losing that much, let alone the fact of how I'd recover from it. It made me do a hell of a lot of thinking.

This is a sad and grueling time for the people of the Southern US coastline as well as the rest of the USA, and not just sharing pain and mourning loss, but also in financial ways. Do you think there will be a recovery, or is this one going to hurt for a long time to come???
I have no doubt in my mind that there'll be some kind of recovery. It definitely isn't happening any time soon, though. There were far too many victims of this catastrophy for anything to happen immediately.

What are some things about you that would be considered strengths?
My willingness to learn, determination, loyalty

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?
What if it isn't! smile

What is the most exciting thing you have ever done?
When I went to get Booker.

If you could be on a reality TV show, which one would it be?
Real World. Definitely. I'm too much of a pansy to be on any other show. At least on that show, I could leave whenever I wanted to, so long as I didnt leave while at work lol.

I noticed you bowl. Do you like big balls or small balls? Are you good, or is it just for recreation?
I use a 10lb ball when I bowl. I'm not that great.. it's for recreation, but usually ends up being a competition lol

Does Rach have a nice ass in person or what? Is she really that nice/caring when it comes to people?
lol What kind of question is that? Yes, she is that nice/caring when it comes to people. It seems that she does her best when in person, though cheesey

What are some of your pastimes or hobbies?
Driving, getting lost, going to Kennywood Park, play w/Booker, bowling, laser tag

What kinds of shows or attractions do you like to attend?
Rock/Alternative. I've been to one concert this year sofar (another on Friday). Both mixed bands. I also like going to hockey games... when they actually play lol

What do you do for fun or recreation on a normal basis?
Bowling, driving, go over someones house

What are some things you would like to try your hand/mind at?
Criminology.. so long as there's no fire involved. I'd also like to try stunt driving

Do you go on day trips and getaways at all? What is a few good places (if any) to visit for a tourist in your area?
In my area, I'm sure there's plenty to see/do/visit. I'm just not aware of them.. or probably just can't think of them just because I've lived here so long. Despite my whining, there is stuff to do here. It just sucks after you've done it more than once. lol The city is a beautiful site if you look at it from far away lol.

What are some places in the world you've been to? Where would you like to go? Why?
Seattle, West Virginia, Pennsylvania (Duh), New York, Massachusettes, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland. I want to go somewhere where I can swim in clear water that's natural smile

Do you have any pets and what are their names?
Yes! Booker (dog) and Pididdle (hamster)

What is your idea of a fun night with your best pals?
Usually doing one of our regular things (unless one of us can come up with something new that's affordable for everyone), or chilling at someones house. I'm not a big partier or clubber smile

What is your idea of a guy who has a shot with you?
One that doesn't treat me like shit or talk down to me? lol

What is your idea of a nice, romantic date with said guy?
o.O *scraches head* lol

Who has been the best influence on you in your life?
There's never just one person. Every single person you come into contact with in your life influences you. Whether you realize it or not, they do in some way or another.

What have you learned are some of the most important things to being happy and content?
Limit as much stress as you can, own a pet, plan things out, and balance your checkbook lol

Would you like to get married and have a family in a traditional way?
My family + marriage does not equal traditional. lol Whatever happens, happens for me. So long as I/we can support whatever decision(s) are made.

What is a 'hidden' talent of yours that is not evident at TSi?
*ponders* I can drive lol. Nobody but Rachael and Brina has seen that. smile

Jenn, you are damn funny and a cool, down to earth person!
Thanks for the great replies~

Me - "What is/was the main goal today, so you could be productive as a human should?"
You- "Today as in literally, or today as in figuratively?"

Jenn, I meant it quite literally! It's a sneaky new approach to the questions, I'm attempting to get a feel for the current mood of the interviewee, like in this useless + cumbersome example. You are still welcome to answer it, but it is now irrelevant to the orig interview frown

Unless you'd like to answer it literally AND figuritively (you spelled it better I think)? smile
Then the literal answer will impact and weigh against the figurative answer, creating a dynamic that will no doubt be capivating! smile

My goal that day was to not fall asleep. The past week had been so physically and mentally exhausting! It, at the time, was a rather large goal lol

I asked it that way because if I'd answered it figuratively, I thought I'd be reiterating answers from other questions. Nobody wants to see the same answers over and over again if it can be helped, right? smile

I enjoyed that interview cheesey
