she said I sound like janis joplin/lorretta lyn.

does anyone else here have a drawl?

...or a cali (no accent)

The western part of MA USA has no accent, unlike the eastern MA counterparts, which forgo the use of the letter 'r' for the most part

I do not sound like Tony Soprano. I have a very mild Jersey accent. Just enough for people to know where I'm from when I'm as north as lovernios or as south as Thrash.

Generally I dont though. But non Australians (except Kiwi's, Poms, & Suid Afrikaans) would hear it, and ask if it was British. I was asked a number of times in the US if I was British (I am by birth, but thats beside the point).

Funniest accent question I got in the US was when I was asked if I was from Nebraska, with a totally straight face.
