Note, this is for Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Thought this topic shouldn't be posted under applications or games...
Just follow these steps and you will be playing online soon enough.
READ THE WHOLE GUIDE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY This guide will help you connect to your own private server. You can also post on wowstatus.net about your server, so others can join, unless you are using LAN.
1) Installing World Of Warcraft and patches.
Install the game without any modifications at all. You can install a patch, but no newer than 1.11.1. Any patches after 1.8.0 will most likely need a hack patch. For each major patch, like 1.9.0 or 1.11.1, there is a hack patch of the same number, just match the hack patch to the version of your World of Warcraft.
Just look on Google for the patches. You don't need me to tell you where to get the patches from.
Put the patches in your Warcraft installation directory and then open the exe's and install them from within the directory.
2) Installing the hack patch.
- This installation file does not need to be put in your warcraft directory to be installed.
- Install it to your WoW Directory - If for some reason this program locks up when installing CTRL ALT DELETE and close removeglue.exe - Delete your addons folder, located in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface - Delete your WTF folder, located in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft - Delete your WDB folder, located in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft
You need winrar to extract the addon folder to your interface.
- Open WoW473519.wtf , located in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft *This can be opened with notepad.*
- It should say: set realmlist 127.0.0.1 (by default after installing the hack patch)
- Change it so that the entire file says: set realmlist 127.0.0.1 If you want to do just singleplayer (without the - )
or
- set realmlist *Insert your IP Address here* If you want to do multiplayer with others (replace *Insert your IP Address here* with your actual IP Address, can be found if you go to [Click, Dick] and look at the top of the page)
- Make sure it is saved as .wtf and NOT .TXT
- Open realmlist.wtf and make the same changes so it says
- set realmlist 127.0.0.1 If you want to do just singleplayer (without the - )
or
- set realmlist *Insert your IP Address here* If you want to do multiplayer with others (replace *Insert your IP Address here* with your actual IP Address, can be found if you go to [Click, Dick] and look at the top of the page).
The hack patch can also be found on Google, search for: WoW *Insert your World of Warcraft version* hack patch.
Remember, if the version is after 1.8.0, you would most likely need a hack patch.
3) Creating Your Account For Our Realm
Go to wherever the new servers is extracted. You will see multiple folders. I'll explain as simple as I can.
AFGWarriorz Funserver+Blizz World: It is the entire WoW map, but the XP rate is high and has new features.
AFGWarriorz Funserver Only: Same as above but it only has a small portion of the map.
AFGWarriorz V3 Blizzlike Version Only: Same as the first server, but the XP rate is normal.
ClientSide Fixes & Addons: Contains a readme to install a Spell.dbc file and what it does while also containg a folder to get a AddOns folder. Open it, and copy the folder to WoW directory/Interface.
Snake Commands Read How to use them: There is a readme about it.
After choosing your WoW server, after doing the above steps and copying the AddOns, double click the file DButil.exe. This is where you get to create the accounts. If the server, wowemy.exe, is running and fully loaded (you can tell if there is three ports open (it'll say if it did)), click on Edit Accounts. If the server isn't loaded, click on Exclusive mode, than Edit Accounts. In the empty field next to Find, type your Username (it'll be in caps but it won't matter). Type in a Password in the proper field. For Secret, it can be left blank. And put the Plevel on 0, unless you want to be a GM. Afterwards, click Add/Replace, than you can close it.
4) Getting the server onto the Internet
If you want your server to be public, go to the server, with the new account(s), look for a file:
wowemu.reg
Right click the file and go to Edit. You can edit the following if you wish:
server_name: This will be the name of the server, when you connect ws_host=127.0.0.1: This is only for singleplayer. To make it a multiplayer server, change 127.0.0.1 to your IP Address.
Now you are set, unless you want to see the map (optional)
5) Seeing the map
In order for you to see the map, you must have 3 gb free space. You may leave the server without the map feature, the radar still works, and without the map, it is only 145 mb. But for those who wants to use the map features, go to where your server is. Make sure the server is not running. You will see a folder called Maps. Open it. Open BatCreator.exe. Follow the Instructions. After directing to your World of Warcraft folder and clicking on Create, than Extract, you will be asked 2 questions. Answer the first question with a with a Y. Answer the 2nd question (near the end) with a N. And your done. PM me or E-Mail me with any problems, or you can thank me.
