Partly, Suze, you have to understand the times that was then. Not very many people liked the Jews. As a matter of fact, Stalin had more Jews killed than Hitler. Also, Hitler was a VERY cruel person. And though he'd weep at a dog getting hit by a car, he had no problems watching videos of people dying as they hung by meat hooks. Also, you have to look into Himmler who was in charge of those camps. He was also a very unique individual. Personally, I could go on and on about him, but lets just say, he was very good at dealing out torture and torment and not thinking of it. Remember, these weren't people. They were Jews. They were the maggots of humanity and weren't worthy of living, let alone a decent death.
